Successful conservation efforts will depend in large part on those who live with wildlife, understanding the perspectives of rural people is essential if successful conservation strategies are to be designed, this session provides an opportunity to learn and engage with youth on the frontline.

This session will provide insights in the form of the personal stories of three youths (one male, two female) from Namibia, Botswana and Kenya who will share their experiences of growing up sharing the land with wildlife, its cultural, social and aesthetic value as well as the problems that they have experienced.
