My work at grassroots level as well as at the highest levels of international policy-making often focused on addressing the interface between conservation priorities, environmental sustainability, social equity and economic development. I bring a strong experience with and a deep understanding of multilateral environmental agreements (CBD, CITES, UNFCCC, RFMOs, etc.) and the role IUCN can play in influencing their evolution and implementation. I am fluent in all three IUCN official languages, as well as Arabic and my experience working in various countries helped me establish strong networks with experts, government officials and international agencies. I am deeply committed to the vision and mission of IUCN and have dedicated the majority of my working life to IUCN in various ways since 2002. I would be honoured to serve on its Council.
