Experience in fields of concern to IUCN:- Strong commitment to the IUCN mission: conserving the integrity and diversity of nature in a manner that is equitable and sustainable. - Rich knowledge in all aspects of IUCN’s work, conservation, economic development, social and environmental well-being. - Active involvement in new and emerging conservation issues such as natural capital accounting and valuation. - Participated in the review of the IUCN global Programme with field visits to Nepal and Laos (1993). - Regional Director, IUCN Eastern Africa (1995), based in Nairobi, Kenya. - Assistant Director General for Programmes and Policy, November 1995–September 1997. - Attended IUCN 18th General Assembly in Perth, Australia (1990) and IUCN World Conservation Congress in Montreal, Canada (1996), Barcelona, Spain (2008), and Hawai’i, USA (2016) in various capacities. - Facilitated the African Elephant Range States dialogue. - Member of the IUCN CEESP Global Steering Committee, Vice Chair - Africa Region (2013–2016), (2018–2020). - Ability to analyse issues across sectors, regions and timelines. - Rich experience in policy, programme development, planning, management and M&E. - Good understanding of sources of IUCN finances and the budget processes. - Experience in all IUCN membership, states, public organizations and civil society.
