Candidate info
Throughout my career, I have promoted the work of environmental networks, spearheading the creation of ASOREMA, the Tri-national Alliance for the Gulf of Honduras (TRIGOH) and the Guatemala Committee of IUCN Members, which has resulted in a greater environmental impact in national laws and the protection of nature in the country. I have promoted, within FUNDAECO, a vision of a gender approach through the Healthy and Empowered Women and Girls Programme (Programa de Mujeres y Niñas Sanas y Empoderadas), which has saved the lives of thousands of women and girls in the country. In addition, this institutional vision focuses its conservation efforts on working to support justice and sustainable development projects for the benefits of rural indigenous communities around national protected areas.
