HideDescription
Nature-based solutions (NbS) is a tool to strengthen inclusive governance in a river basin context. There is plenty of potential for NbS to address water management challenges, such as climate change, water scarcity and community resilience to natural disasters. BRIDGE GBM initiative is working with a Network of 30 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) from the five GBM countries to build their capacity to document NbS best practices in river basin management and initiate its actual implementation in specific river basin context. Learning from the experiences so far, the session will highlight the effectiveness of Nature-based Solutions as a tool to promote inclusive river basin governance. It will explore selected case studies from the GBM region, exploring the role of women and youth in the adoption of NbS approaches at the community level. The outcomes of session will identify actions points for building CSOs advocacy on NbS mainstreaming in river basin policies and plans.
