Old is beautiful! Preparing vote of motion WCC 2021 n°125 “Old-growth forest in Europe” and implementation of motion WCC 2016 Res 046 “Ancientness in Europe”.

Old-growth forests are part of the common heritage of Europe, with associated biodiversity and climate benefits, and are so far insufficiently integrated into policies. Additionally, the newly added concept of ancientness (continuity of forest soil) is still poorly understood and little integrated into forest policies and landscape planning.
