Dr Sandra RATIARISON

Dr Sandra RATIARISON is an expert in forest natural resource management with 20 years of experience in designing and implementing research and conservation/development projects, including 12 years of field work experience in Africa and South America. As a veterinary doctor and a PhD in forest ecology, she has been working for 13 years in Africa (Nigeria, Central Africa countries and Madagascar) on various approaches to sustainable forest management, going from coordinating field-based demo projects to contributing to multi-stakeholder evidence-based policy development processes covering multiple technical fields (protected area and wildlife management, community-based ecotourism development, community-based forestry, sustainable management certification schemes in logging and agro-industries). She is currently regional coordinator for the Sustainable Wildlife Management Programme for Central Africa and Madagascar.
