We read about intersecting crises every day. Farmers, consumers, and policymakers are beginning to converge on a common approach to answering these global challenges, a holistic approach to food systems, landscape stewardship, and respect for cultural diversity and human rights. It is agroecology. This session will explore what agroecology is and what it offers to solve the pressing challenges of our era.
This session will offer both a donor and grassroots practitioner perspective. We will introduce the Agroecology Fund's innovative pooled fund that brings together donor resources and relies on the expertise of expert advisors embedded in agroecology movements to shape funding decisions. During the pandemic, the Agroecology Fund has provided emergency funding to grantees seeking to resolve acute food security crises with biodiversity and climate and culture-friendly agriculture, agroecology.
