Prof. Helen ROY

Professor Helen Roy MBE Hon FRES is an ecologist at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology. She is fascinated by the interactions between species and the ways in which environmental change effects wildlife. Helen has worked extensively on invasive alien species and been delighted to led research projects on biological invasions for the European Commission and UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Helen also enjoys science communication, public engagement with research and citizen or community science. Helen is delighted to be the current President of the Royal Entomological Society and to be chair of the British Ecological Society Public Engagement Working Group. Her research on invasive alien species has received international recognition and she is currently leading the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services thematic assessment on invasive alien species and their control.
