Strategy lead for biodiversity & NbS, bp plc

Mark is the Strategy Lead for biodiversity and nature-bases solutions in the environmental sustainability team at bp plc.  Mark is also Chair of the IPIECA BES Working Group, member of the IPBES expert panel on business and biodiversity, and founder/steering team member of the newly formed UK Business & Biodiversity Forum.  

Mark completed a degree in Zoology and PhD at Imperial College, and MBA from the Open University. After completing a PhD, he led research projects in Guyana, South America.  Before joining bp in 2012, he was a Senior Lecturer in Biodiversity at the University of the West of England, Bristol and Associate Director at Mott MacDonald.
