Dr Deepu SIVADAS
Young Professionals Network Lead, IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management/ Post Doctoral Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru Tropical Botanic Garden and Research Institute
Deepu is a postdoctoral researcher and a consultant working on various nature conservation and policy projects. He leads the Young Professionals Network of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management.
He has over ten years of research experience with a primary interest in the conservation ecology of threatened plants in the Western Ghats, India and explores ecosystem functions and processes. Other research interests are Species Recovery and Threat Status Assessment. His work experience gives a combination of expertise in conservation and institutional development and impact assessment. He is also trained in the integration of Disaster Impact Assessment in Environmental Impact Assessment.
He is a frequent blogger, and editor of Harnessing Nature, the magazine published by IUCN CEM South Asia Regional Network and is part of various environment conservation networks.
