Mr Stéphane LE FOLL
President, "4 per 1000" International Initiative
Born in Le Mans in 1960, grandson of a farmer, Stephane Le Foll holds a BTS in Agriculture, a DEA in Economics (1988) and a diploma from the CNAM (1993).
Professor of economics (1983-88), he was lecturer at University of Nantes (1998-99).
Municipal councilor of Longnes (1983-95), then of Le Mans and vice-president of Le Mans Metropole from 2001.
Director of the cabinet (1997-2008), when François Hollande was head of the French Socialist Party (PS).
Member of the European Parliament (2004-2012), he was elected deputy for the Sarthe in 2012.
Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (2012-2017), and government spokesman from 2014, under the presidency of François Hollande.
At the origin of the "4 per 1000" Initiative at COP 21 in Paris, he was elected Vice President in 2016, then President in 2020.
Re-elected MP in 2017, he leaves his position in 2018, after his election as Mayor of Le Mans.
