Nicola has worked for RSPB (BirdLife in UK) since 1992 and is BirdLife International policy lead for the BirdLife Global Flyways Programme, being BirdLife focal point for the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) family, focussed on stopping illegal killing, minimising energy infrastructure impacts (including the establishment of CMS Task Forces to tackle these), conserving coastal wetlands (including supporting World Heritage nominations of the Yellow Sea coast of China and South Korea), African sustainable land-use for migratory landbirds & the CMS Multi-species Action Plan for African-Eurasian Vultures. In her previous job with the UK statutory Joint Nature Conservation Committee she produced "Crockford, N.J. 1991. A review of the possible impacts of wind farms on birds and other wildlife".
