Conserving tree genetic diversity for forests and humans

In this workshop, we will explore the role Forest Genetic Resources in biodiversity conservation strategies, especially regarding forest adaptation to climate change. This workshop will be composed of short interventions of scientists and forest managers to cross views on the potential role Forest Genetic Resources in biodiversity conservation strategies, especially regarding forest adaptation to climate change. Based on specific French examples, this workshop will explore how Forest Genetic Resources conservation can be combined with both biodiversity conservation and forest multifunctional management plans. Along with motion 109, the possible synergies and collaboration between foresters and conservationists will be discussed to implement effective climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies for forests in Europe.
