Dr Alexander BELYAKOV

Alexander served as an individual consultant on peace and biodiversity issues at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. He was a focal point for the MOOC on Peace Park Development and Management.

Alexander is one of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association founding members. He was a Member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian non-profit Science for Peace.

Earlier, Alexander has taught Sustainability Management at Ryerson University in Canada. He was a visiting scholar at the Environmental Journalism Program at the University of California, Berkeley. Alexander wrote his Ph.D. thesis to show that communication can be an effective tool of environmental policy.
