Executive Secretary, Convention on Migratory Species of Wild Animals

Ms. Fraenkel was appointed as Executive Secretary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) on 10 February 2020.  She has over 30 years of experience in international environmental law and policy, and has held senior positions in the UN, the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. Government, and in private law practice.   

Ms. Fraenkel holds a juris doctorate from Harvard Law School and is a graduate of Grinnell College. In addition to English, she speaks French and Spanish.
