Andrea LEDWARD
International Biodiversity and Climate Director, Defra , Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
Andrea is the International Biodiversity and Climate Director at Defra. She has over 20 years experience in Government overseeing domestic and international climate and environment policy. She has also represented the UK on the Green Climate Fund Board. Her academic background is as a psychologist and medical anthropologist with expertise in working with children, young people and the natural environment. She has led large scale research programmes in East Africa, Asia and the Middle East for the World Bank and Save the Children (UK). She was educated at Oxford University and University College London and was a Fulbright scholar at Harvard University.
