Chief Executive Officer, Arcus Foundation

Annette Lanjouw is the CEO of the Arcus Foundation, and Head of its Great Ape Program.  Annette joined the Arcus Foundation in 2007. Annette Lanjouw is a behavioural ecologist, studying non-human apes.  She has worked in the DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Cameroon and the Republic of Congo on conservation from 1985 to 2005. She studied bonobos, chimpanzees and mountain gorillas. She is a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission Primate Specialist Group, IUCN Transboundary Specialist Group, IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, IUCN Conservation Planning Specialist Group and IUCN Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group. She sits on the Board of Directors of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy,  the Virunga Fund, the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology and is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of FFI.
