Dr Barney LONG
Director of Conservation Strategies, Re:wild
I work on the conservation of endangered species and the thematic approaches required to achieve the recovery of their populations. I've worked extensively on many species including the Saola, Sumatran and Javan rhino, Tiger, Gibbons, Doucs, Tamaraw and a host of other species across the world. My focus on catalyzing species recovery and co-chair the development of the IUCN Green Status of Species. My focus covers the one-plan-approach for species conservation, protected area management effectiveness and the prevention of poaching.
I'm an active member of both SSC (multiple Specialist Groups) and WCPA and am a strong believer in the power of partnerships for conservation working extensively with the Red List, SMART, Conservation Assured, URSA, Sumatran Rhino Survival Alliance, Shoal, and multiple other partnerships for conservation.
