I hold a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and a research position at the National Research Council (CONICET), Argentina. Teach Master Courses at UBA and UNSAM. Recently appointed adjunct professor within SENSE, University of Saskatchewan.
My interest in articulating research results with policy led me to Chair the IUCN SSC South American Camelid Specialist Group, collaborate with CITES, FWS, the Vicuña Convention. I also took part in a number of indigenous forums that aimed to strengthen indigenous participation, and a more equitable distribution of benefits derived from vicuña and guanaco use. I am the IUCN SSC Regional Vice Chair for Latin America and a member of its Steering Committee and SULI. I am taking part at the IPBES Assessment on Sustainable Use of Wild Species as a Lead Author and participate at the ILK liaison group.
