Klaus OBERBAUER

Program Manager, SecondMuse

Klaus is a Program Manager at SecondMuse, responsible for the Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) in Indonesia. He is passionate about connecting people to improve systems and finds it fascinating to see how much can be achieved through building the right relationships and creating mutual understanding. With OPPA, he works towards shifting economies towards seeing plastic as a resource, rather than waste.

Klaus has been working on the development of social innovation ecosystems in Southeast Asia for close to a decade, and is particularly interested in the intersection of innovation with a social purpose and intercultural understanding. To better understand this intersection, he researched the role of design approaches in collective learning processes from the perspective of a cultural outsider for his Master of Studies at the University of Cambridge.
