Dr Maria SPARLA
biologist, Parco agricolo Sud Milano - Città metropolitana Milano
graduated in biology, she obtained a PhD in Environmental Sciences and has always been involved in issues relating to nature conservation and parks management. For some years she held specialized courses at the Bicocca University of Milan, in reference to the theme of conservation in parks and their management. Since 1998, she has been working at the South Milan Agricultural Park, where she is now the head of technical and environmental coordination. She has developed several national and European projects not only to nature conservation but also those related to the typical activities of peri-urban agriculture, such as: the development of farmers' markets, short supply chains, direct sales and the creation of a brand for farms that develop sustainable activities. She is a member of the Europarc agriculture commission. She participates in the construction of the sustainable development agenda for the metropolitan city of Milan.
