Dr Mialy ANDRIAMAHEFAZAFY

Dr. Mialy Andriamahefazafy is a Malagasy researcher focusing on fisheries management and ocean governance. She holds an MPhil in Conservation Leadership from Cambridge University and a PhD from the University of Lausanne. Her PhD research analysed the politics of tuna fisheries in the Western Indian Ocean. Her current research investigates the implementation of the UN SDG 14 in East Africa.
Mialy also has a strong interest in practice and advocacy, promoting the interests of fishing communities. She worked in Madagascar as a policy advisor to support locally-based fisheries management and marine conservation. She is currently a trustee for the NGOs Blue Ventures and the International Pole and Line Foundation.
