Nicole Franceschini has a BA in Cultural Heritage with a major in Near Eastern Archaeology, and a MA in World Heritage Studies. Between 2017 and 2021 she worked as a lecturer in World Heritage and heritage management at the Chair of Heritage Management of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in Germany. She worked as a consultant to public instructions and private companies working on feasibility studies for World Heritage nominations and management plans for World Heritage properties. In 2020-21, she cooperated with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre in the preparation of a guidance document focused on wind energy deployment and World Heritage.
Her previous experiences at ICCROM include an internship at the Sites Unit (2016), cooperation in the organization of ICCROM’ sessions at the IUCN World Conservation Congress (2016) and PCA17 (2017), and she has been a consultant to the World Heritage Leadership programme since 2018.
