Dr Penny LANGHAMMER
Executive Vice President, Re:wild (formerly Global Wildlife Conservation)
Dr. Penny Langhammer oversees conservation programs for Re:wild across the world. She is responsible for developing and implementing Re:wild’s strategy through both regional and cross-cutting programs, and she leads internal and external teams assessing the impact of conservation action. As co-chair of the IUCN SSC-WCPA Joint Task Force on Biodiversity and Protected Areas, she led the development of A Global Standard for the Identification of Key Biodiversity Areas (IUCN 2016). She has since served on the KBA Partnership committee and co-chairs its Technical Working Group. Prior to joining Re:wild, Penny served as the principal consultant of Terra Consilium and as Director of Conservation Outcomes for Conservation International. She obtained her PhD in Biology from Arizona State University and now serves as adjunct professor in the School of Life Sciences.
